Ive also heard super smash bros 3ds is a better experience on the new 3ds, and amiibo has better support on new 3ds as you dont need the new portal like addition (which isnt yet available, or even with release date other than sometime in 2015). And I read an article on how pokemon is interested in amiibo support in future games, that should be interesting to see

That said, most forget about Pokemon Rumble U that hit GameStop...The NFC Figures were kind of their realworld test run for the Amiibo line etc.
