I liked them maps....lol
They weren't always user friendly though....
I am an Eagle Scout but more that once I got completely turned around using them to hunt down that ONE soul gem or that last floaty life preserver of Flynn's. (My general rule is to only use the Guide when I have run an entire level twice without finding what I need. Also comes in handy if your replaying a level months later on Nightmare mode)
Well like or leave 'em, they are the best game in town!!

Haha, yep...I prefer a zoomed out map in tact as opposed to the "jumpers" they are inclined to use. The exploited detail is nice, but usually minimally advantageous as it is for a bonus area etc.

I critique the guide more AFTER my blind run...all I use it for now is the character bio's for unboxings and introductions, lol.
