I don't know that it is a W1 release here either. I was sent one and I know the Dark SP has the "Ultimate Kaos Trap," but that is it.

Someone told me the W2 (see also a few days after launch) might have it, but I don't know that for fact.

This is how it works, Kao's has his own Wave/Box (no joke). Not in 1 or 2 just his own, so people will keep saying they have him from Wave 1 and some say from Wave 2. It depends on store shipment.

I found out today that my TRU said they'd be putting them out Tuesday with Wave 2. I had a few contacts on Twitter and elsewhere mention getting it at Target. Looks to be random like Daphtaru said.

Based on how ransacked my TRU's trap section was it will be tough to find without lurking in the parking lot to beat the scalpers.

No need. Today I was lucky enough to get a dark edition starter pack. Thats one way to beat the scalpers

Nice! That is the Ultimate Kaos Trap...it is bigger and more detailed, but works just the same. I hope my DESP shows up soon!
