Starter Pack Summation: The Were, What and How Much

OK All!
Its that time of year again: Starter Pack choice-time!!!
Ohh...The Whatizitz?...The WhohasItz? or The Wherizits? and, one of my favorites, The Howmuchizits?
Or in human speak: The Types, The Retailers and The Costs.

I will attempt to boil it down and present any advantages or limitations associated with any particular choice.
Feel free to update this section with any comments or new breaking news associated with Imaginator Starter Pack releases.
But be warned, you can't believe everything that you see.
So here goes:

As per the Skylander official page, three types of Starter Packs will be made available:

(A JOKE. Do NOT ask your local GameStop clerk for the Lightcore Edition...You will be beaten.)




The Standard Edition should be available at all standard retailers:
Gamestop, Toys-R-US, Best Buy, WalMart, EB Games, Amazon, Etc.
It will be released on the WiiU, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and XBox One systems.
It should be retailing for $74.99 in the USA. (Can we agree to round up the 1 cent to make it an even $75 +tax?!?)


Now here is where things get tricky.
The Dark Edition will ONLY be available thru GAMESTOP and their related retailer, EB Games.
The Dark Edition will not be sold at Toys-R-Us or WalMart or Best Buy.
It retails for $99.


The second tricky...is a tricky concealed by a counter tricky:
The Crash Edition will be available at all standard retailers (no exclusives) BUT...BUT...The Crash Edition is ONLY for the Playstation consoles: The Palystation4 and Playstation 3.
There will be NO Crash Edition for the WiiU or the Xbox consoles.
It is also listed to retail at $99.

A confirmed relief is that the Crash Bandicoot/ Dr. Neo Cortex Skylanders in the Crash Edition WILL be made available to the rank and file (Non-Playstation owning) players at Christmastime in the form of a Crash Adventure Pack. It will apparently go for @$35.

Unfortunately...I have just received word from the website "All Skylanders, All The Time" that the Lightcore Edition Starter Pack has been cancelled.
No....wait...wait...
It has NOT been cancelled...*Whew*!!!....Lucky!!!
It WILL, however, be released in very small numbers, available at exclusive retailers only at Area 51 (See US Air Force recruiters for details), Warehouse 13, Gotham City, Narnia, Atlantis, Shangri-La and in the Orion's Islands. You will find them in the isle with Yawn Traps and Standard Thrillipede's.
It will retail for 35 Golden Galleons, 3 Sickles and 6 Knutes. (see Gringotts Bank for Muggle Monies Exchange Rates)



BONUS: All Pre-Orders (No matter the Edition Type) will be given a Free Kaos on pickup!

The Dr Doofenshmirtz (or however it's spelt) joke was hilarious.
I think I'll be preordering the dark edition to get Kaos, and then, hopefully on sale, get the Crash Edition a bit later on sale. Although kniwing me I'll be grabbing it day 1 anyway lol.

Lol...yes....Lightcore!
It was fun to let the imagination run for a bit on that. Sad to say, I think the Lightcores have seen their heyday in Skylands already...
I am seriously curious if the Imaginite element crystals are lightcore...? I think that would be a good fit for them. I haven't seen any of them glow so I'm guessing not.
Does anyone know for sure?

I was also curious if the Christmas-time Crash Adventure Pack is going to be a true Adventure Pack? Meaning, will it have its own magic item that will unlock a new level? (Perhaps this idea deserves its own thread as it will be a question and an ongoing item thru Christmas.)

A side note, the drawn Imaginator idea held up by Dr. Doofenschmirtz in my cartoon above is actually my son"s. Lol.
He came up with it for the Submit Your Own Skylander Contest. We worked up a whole backstory and everything: Cool ant-warrior who lived in the same Volcano labrynth that Eruptor came from. I wanted to post it up out there in a fun way to reward his effort and imagination! Lol.

It is currently unknown if there is an actual location piece, or if the characters themselves unlock it etc.

Ah, very cool...a fire ant makes a lot of sense as a Skylander!

I still support the return of LC, the biggest complaints I had were simply that they needed to be superior to S2 (when applicable), ie give them access to the Wow Pow and a user deployed, rechargeable Flash Bomb.
